John Roach Funeral Directors launches community fund to support local good causes

John Roach Funeral Directors in Johnstone is inviting local charities and community groups to apply for funding as the first round of its Community Fund opens.

The fund has been created to support projects that make a meaningful difference to people living in the local area, with a total of £3,000 available across two funding rounds this year. Individual grants of up to £1,500 are available to successful applicants.

The Community Fund is open to groups working within a five-mile radius of the funeral home in Houstoun Square, Johnstone, with a focus on initiatives that improve everyday life for local residents.
Applications are welcomed from projects that support at least one of the following areas: Health, Education, Employment opportunities and Poverty and social deprivation.

The first round of funding is now open, with applications closing on Sunday 29 March. A second opportunity to apply will follow later in the year, with the next round opening in late June.

Natasha Craig, Funeral Arranger at John Roach Funeral Directors, said: “We are proud to be part of the Johnstone community, and it means a great deal to us to support the incredible work that local charities and groups are doing every day. This funding is a way for us to give something back and help those projects continue to make a positive difference. We would encourage any local groups with an idea or project that supports the community to apply.”

Local organisations interested in applying are encouraged to submit their application before the deadline to be considered for the first round of funding.
